Every month we offer a discount on one of our popular designs and this month it is the saucer block FB19.
This really couldn’t be a more simple block to use. For the hat above we used two layers of sinamay simply tied over the block into the string groove and then the presser was placed on top with a weight on until dry. No sharp corners to have to work out creases and the result is a very effective and striking saucer hat. Catherine is wearing it attached to an Alice band but it could be equally effective sewn onto a simple dome shape that fits the head.
The presser itself can also be used alone adding an extra benefit to this block.
